Very nice Paul, and glad you're back in the shop. How's the knee?
When you find the 'British Damascus Rosetta Stone' we'll know what y'all called it but we Colonials and the Belgians called it Two Iron "Horse-shoe" or Damas Crolle' Plunger-Lemoine. Remington called it "Boston N."

This is interesting, and demonstrates how the twisting technique alters the pattern (with the same 'lopin'.) It's a c. 1875-1887 J. Crockart & Son "The Acme" courtesy of Heritage Guns, and the right barrel 3 Iron 'Turkish' becomes 'Horse-shoe.'

J. Forsyth Hammer Gun

'End-on' rods seen at the breech - looks like the rod started with 4 iron and 4 steel strips
