Our trip to Iowa has been cancelled. Plan B, to return to Eastern North Dakota. Missed last year. Heard comments that the pheasants are way down this year. Brother and I don't have any contacts in ND, and our hunts are out of the PLOTS book on CRP and WMA. Anyone have a hunt on the east side of ND and care to comment. Randy

I live in the SE part of ND. More towards the central part. The numbers are down. More in some areas than in others. Crops are finaly starting to come down which will help. PM me and we can talk.

Mr.Burns, As usual, my PM abilities have fallen short again. Would love to talk with you regarding the ND pheasant situation. Please email me and leave a contact number. Randy [ raven@freeway.net ]

Made two trips so far to the SW corner and am leaving again Saturday for the third.

Bird numbers are down from the last couple of years, but I expected that after last winter. The main thing is they are spotty. Some places have nice numbers, others you might as well be walking the dog in the park.

They are still great by other states standards. The Colorado season opener is Saturday and I'm headed to North Dakota that morning if this tells you anything. Colorado is suppose to have one of the best populations in years. I'll hunt here in December & January.

I hunted around Wyndmere 24, 25, 26 Oct with relatives. About 0 corn harvested and maybe 30% of beans. There were pheasants around BUT just run/fly to unharvested crop. Like 2008 VERY WET. Farmers can't get into the fields. Saw birds but I never fired a shot!!!
