The gun has been refinished, but it hasn't been restocked. That's original Parker PHE wood with a checkered butt, which was available on special order. Some of those PHE's had some pretty nice wood. JR

If that wood is original, OJ is innocent, Elvis is coming over for Thanksgiving and my check from Bernie Madoff clears on Monday. Even if all these things were true, the tiger stripes (DelGrego or not) make this an over priced gun to me. Could be a great shooter but WAY over priced.

That's a real clever response. But the gun has been refinished, it has not been restocked. Easy to see if you know Parkers and how to spot originality, even through a refinish. JR

Best way I know if a Parker's been restocked is to take off the trigger guard & see if the SN is on the wood underneath.
Best Regards, George

I think the point they are trying to make is that the gun did not leave the Parker factory with that stock originally. The style of the stock is not comtemporary with the date of manufacture and it is probably a Del Grego restock,or perhaps a late Remington restock which ,I suppose, could be considered a factory stock altho' not the original stock.

Yup, looks like a plug in the forend, oil in the front of the stock, woops, sorry, restock, but the colors definitely look like DelGrego. DelGrego does not file by serial number, but by surname, so you may get some info on the gun if you know the name of the person who has the work done.

JR, a PHE Parker with an original checkered wood butt that isn't a skeet gun would be a one in a million gun.

Best Regards, George That is not even a sure way as lots of people have number stamps. Jim A.
