anybody shipped as an individual to a dealer using FedEx? if so, did they give you any guff about it, did they know their own regulations? i know how expensive it is but that's the only option available to me.

thanks

I believe handguns have to be shipped FFL to FFL. I would read the reg's before I dropped a handgun in the mail.

you can ship a handgun as an individual to an FFL for repairs. has to go common carrier, not US mail. Only dealers can send handguns thru mail. (Postal Regs)
many comon carriers (FEDEX, UPS) get weird with their employees ignorance of laws so be careful.

i'm up on all the regs, know what's legal and isn't (and shipping a handgun from an individual to a dealer is but only dealers can use USPS). what i was after was what had happened to anyone who'd actually shipped a handgun FedEx. have not sold a handgun on gunbroker yet but am thinking about it and since UPS here in fort worth won't take guns from individuals (last time i tried and i've not wanted to have that argument again) FedEx is my only choice.

I ship handguns to FFL holders on a semi-regular basis.

FedEX, at least here in CS, is no problem. Ever.

The shipment draws a large yawn, as it's dropped off for processing with no drama, right behind the deep frozen, highly valuable, highly perishable dog and bull semen and frozen canine, bovine and equine embryos. There's drama with those.

Havent had a problem with UPS either.

thanks! that's like the one time i shipped a shotgun here. the young lady waiting on me had to get an older clerk to help her look up their policy and that was that.

what annoys me abt UPS is the bunch here don't even hold to UPS policy. they make up their own. you'd think was massachusetts or some such place.

i just don't like meeting unknown people who respond to ads and don't like taking the economic hit of selling at a gun show or to a dealer and consignment is expensive and slow. gunbroker is greatest thing there ever was.

thanks again
