Hi Again, I realize the barrel flats are hard to read, I will try to describe the marks first the numbers 1835.26. then NPf a cursive styish F inside of an E that seems like it could be a barrel maker mark? some kind of an eagle the tubes have an S and a K one tube 16.0 the other 16.1 (right barrel), the tubes also have the F inside the E. Between the ribs 1200.0.4388.25.15 5 160 Thnaks Jeff G.

NP sub F is for Ferlach. The intertwined "EF" is the stamp of the preliminary for Ferlach. Beside the "5160" of the data string looks to be an "Eagle" "Crown" over "S" stamp suggesting German tubes? There also looks to be a mark between the right flat and the "16.1" stamp? I'd guess a 1925 year model(final proof in 1926) and the barrel maker/mechanic initials(K.W.??) look to be beside the "1200.0" on the left tube. And there looks to be the letter "K" on the right tube toward the forend lug?
Kind Regards,
Raimey rse

Hi Raimey, The K.W. is not that but what appears to be a crown over ? proof mark but I cant find an Austrian or German proof mark that is close, how about Belgian Crown over E double proof for unfurnised barrels (should that be unfnished)? Jeff

Jeff G.:
Is the mark an inverted "Crown" over "S"? If they were Belgian sourced tubes I would expect to see the preliminary and a few other stamps.

Jeff G.: Thanks for the effort and true it is a "Crown" over maybe "N". Also are those monograms just ahead of the flats; one between the flat and 16.1 and the other really beside the 16.0. I'll have to check my files but I think Nowotny had a similar mark like all 3 if you can make-out an intertwined "JN" out of the marks.
Kind Regards,
Raimey rse

No, upon closer inspection the mark looks to be a "Crowned" overlaping "ST" or "SI", possibly over a shield, with the "ST" or "SI" being similar to the following mark but smaller of course and "Crowned": The above is a Karl Haupmann example(note the re-enforced proofmark of "PV": Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Jeff, glad to see you're still enjoying that gun! I remember looking at the proofs and thinking there wasn't much there except basic Ferlach stuff and a 3-digit SN. But it's a very nice little gun.
