Let me clarify what I believe he meant. I think he meant the guns with the ICD logo obliterated, were assembled from rejected parts.

The actions on the late guns mostly came from Holland, I believe. One article I read said some of them were made here in the US. But at any rate, they were not Italian--not that the Italians are incapable of making good actions (or entire guns, for that matter).

Bob, having owned several original Ithacas, I was intrigued with ICD right from the get-go. That being said, at a Cabela's store, I saw a couple early guns, when the barrels and actions were coming from Italy, that had wood to metal fit I felt was unacceptable on a gun in that price range. From the photos, yours looks great--and I didn't see or handle enough of the 470 SN guns to form a general opinion. Gunter came aboard, I believe, after some of the early guns left the shop. I think they eventually assembled a top-notch team and were turning out really nice guns, after they got past some initial rough spots.

The gun I asked about is S/N 470261.
It is straight stocked, two triggers, and BTFE.
