Greetings all,

I may soon be acquiring a Garbi straight stocked sidelock but the cast on the gun is 1/8" to far off. I need to have it bent in 1/8" and have some wood taken off the top. My concern is that the Gabri has a long trigger guard that runs along the bottom of the wrist. Is it possible to bend this 1/8" back without tourqing the whole gun into problems?

Thanks

If the grain is straight and the head of the stock is sound, bending it should be no problem.

It' will take very little effort to brig the stock back 1/8" and brought down at the same time,...you should NOT be taking wood of the top, that would defeat the purpose of having it bent

You also want to shoot it before bending it.
You might find out that it fits you well from start.

Well it's a moot point, the gun has been sold I'm getting a different one which has the correct cast and is just a bit long and high at the heel. I'll see where it shoots first before doing anything.

Thanks!

I had a sidelock straight grip gun bent up and the cast taken out completely. It worked very well. The long tang of a triggerguard is very soft steel and is bent to match.
