Calm down, Destry. That's just a reproduction of a forties Iver Johnson magazine ad. That young lady wouldn't have any interest in you, now that she's in her mid seventies.

I did not know they had camo clothes and polycarbonate shooting glasses sixty years ago! I don't think that girl is in her seventies quite yet! Mike

Now you did it. Destry will be back in heat. I knew she was a hottie, but I was hoping Destry wouldn't notice.

Max, Great to hear you like your IJ single. Sounds like it's a mate to mine. I love this gun. Closeup here to show the elegance of the gun and my daughter. ( for someone in her seventies, she looks like she's 22 ). I had to plead with the wife of a close friend to have him sell me the gun. Agreement was, the gun was to go back to him if ever a sale was considered. The gun is a real treasure. To pick up, handle, and inspect this gun denies its place as just "an ole single shot". All aspects of the gun speak to the quality of workmanship done by the men/women of Iver Johnson. The solid rib milled into the barrel, beautiful wood, fit and checkering. The balance and handling qualities of the gun puts it out of the league of starter, or kids gun. This gun out does any competitor I know of. Win.37, not even close. Interesting to what market they tried to corner with this gun? Anyone know?? Article awhile back in DGJ wrote about the I J single shots. Daughter Kate shot it well in practice, but not so good when the turkey showed up. My serial letters are IBUU. Don't have a clue on what that means. Max, What is your letters? Randy

Boys,
I believe that's RMC's young daughter, a bit of tact here.

Randy, ther serial # on my gun is IBUI, according to the information that I found on the net the letter only system was used from the 1940's until about 1956. Also, the letters correspond to numbers. The corresponding numbers on my gun would be 2672 and your gun would be 2677. Five (5) guns apart,so your gun is almost a twin. Very interesting and probably explains the similar quality. I will try to find the web site where I got this information for your reference.
Regards,
Max

Randy, the web site that has the information on the Iver Johnson serial numbers is www.antiqueguns.com. Do a google search on "iver johnson single barrel serial numbers. Information came from b. goforth on 1-7-09. I think he published a book on Iver Johnson firearms. Regards, Max

Randy that is a nice gun i just wished she had got that turkey. I have a couple of Iver Johnson trap guns and they have some nice wood on them. I have never seen a Iver with wood that good on a single barrel. You can look back in the form about a month ago under Iver Johnson Super Trap my gun is on the second page. Randy you need to be proud of that gun. If you ever want to part with it just PM me. Donnie

Iver Johnson special Trap: I will post after pictures following a refinishing job. The checkering is full of grime and the wood has no finish on it.

The gun the turkey huntress is holding is like the two 12 gauge Western Fields I have owned. I'm still not clear as to the correct designation of this model. Typing in Champion, on Google, got me pictures that were not like this. I believe the "Special Trap" model has a ventilated rib. Mine do not, the rib is solid. Choke is swaged, choice of ejection or extraction is made by position of a screw in the barrel lug. Had some success and a LOT of fun, shooting BP cartridges in mine, at BP cartridge trap matches. Sold the first one to a shooting buddy and guess what? He beat me with it!
