There is a Miroku Charles Daley sxs with the tumbler pin moving to the right after shooting several rounds of trap. It taps back in and the most I've seen it move is probably 1.5 mm.

Is this indicative of anything other than an overly bushed hole? Need to be looked at by a pro, or just watched and tapped back in as needed? It seems to be otherwise a nice gun.

The hole in the lug between the tumblers needs to be resized.

A simple buggering up on one end of the pin should help it stay in place. I'd recommend the right end. When you need to drive the pin out, drive it from the left. A little Loctite wouldn't hurt, either. Pins drifting out is pretty common with many boxlocks.

Jim, I respectfully disagree with you on "buggering up" the pin. By doing so the hole in the side of the frame becomes buggered each time the pin is tapped into or out of the frame and that's the last thing I would want to have caused to a fine gun.

OK. But how do you resize the hole between the tumblers? I've done what I suggested several times and it didn't show. Not sure I'd class a Miroku Chas. Daly as a "fine gun".

Anyway, no offense taken. Always willing to learn better ways.
Thank you,

I have had that problem on a Beretta GR3, and my gunsmith buddy suggested removing the pin and striking the circumference on one end gently with a small center punch to slightly expand that circumference. Add LocTite if necessary.

And yes, a Miroku Daly is a pretty fine gun for just about any purpose.

I didn't mean to knock the Miroku. I have had a few and like them very much. I was just questioning calling them a "fine" gun. What replacement is describing is the same technique I have used.
Thanks,

It was designed and manufactured with the axle hole in the lug between the tumblers a smaller i.d. than the corresponding holes in the sides of the frame thus retaining the pin by the tight fit. The holes on the sides of the frame are there strictly to facilitate installation and removal of the pin. All I'm saying is why unnecessarily modify the way the gun was made?

Clear nail polish. Inside or outside.
Harms nothing.

Out there doing it best I can.

You didn't say how to "resize the axle hole", yet. The ways we suggested sound much easier and less invasive.
