Yesterday at the skeet field, a friend discoverd his 28 ga sidelock Arrieta had a broken ejector; this is the part that is hit by the ejector hammer and kicks the cartridge out.

Besides contacting Arrieta directly, could anyone reccommend a good repair/parts facility here in the States? I'm guessing even if there is a stock part available, it will need custom fitting. The gun was imported by the now defunct New England Arms.

Try Dale Tate. I just got a gun back that I had sent to him. It had a finicky Greener-type ejector system that was out of whack, and no one else I could find would even touch it. With much ingenuity and skill he managed to convert my gun to a non-ejector. He was very pleasant to deal with and is clearly knowledgable. Dale doesn't use e-mail, but you can reach him at 209-763-9040.

It sounds like you are talking about one of the split extractors. Probably uses the Soughgate style ejectors and like these I'm sure the split extractors might be interchangeable only requiring minor fitting.

If I were your friend I'd e-mail Arrieta and explain to them what happened and what part(s) you need---they are good about standing behind their product. I recently needed a new striker for my 14 year old Model 570, I e-mailed them, they sent me two at no charge...took about a month and arrived via 1st class mail in my mailbox here in Wisconsin.
