Probably not. Every one of my friends who owned a Greener like that (and, wasn't left handed) got sick of fumbling around for the safety.
They are all gone. I am lefthanded, and I didn't buy any of them. Nice enough guns, but, seemingly engineered for about 10% of the populace.
There are good deals to be had these days. Keep looking.
Best, Ted

A nice shooting gun for the price if there is absolutely nothing wrong that does not show in the description or pictures, and if it is stocked to your dimensions. I'm sure the buyer will be mildly satisfied.

I did ask him how much it weighed; 8 lbs. Probably weighed it on a bathroom scale.

The Greener safety on the left side of the stock is for a right hander's thumb. Left hand Greener safes are on the right side of the stock.

Might be the idea, but, in reality, most give 'em up for a tang safety, posthaste. Someday, there will be a tang safety for a Darne, and I'll be sorry I'm not involved in importing them anymore.

Safety location aside; The ended out stock would be a put off for me. Jim

The gun appears to have a serious amount of drop at heel. This would be a deal killer for most.
Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought stupid, than open it and confirm.

I don't know where else you would find a usable Greener at that price. It doesn't appeal to me because of the cosmetics, but then again, if it didn't have the wood issues, it would be north of 1250.
More generally, I don't see the problem with the side safety. I admit that I have spent 30 years fooling with drillings, but to me, such safeties are like double triggers. With a bit of use, hitting it with the thumb on the way up becomes about as instinctive as the tang.

BV2(among the 17 makers' names that have a value of 3/4 of the top 4 makers' names)-OQ6(2nd grade BLE)-CC7(Shootable but needs repairs or restoration)= $1031. That figure is, I feel, on the generous side and is retail out the door. You have shipping to add to the hammer price. Also, an internet auction must be judged a bit more risky than a hand-to-hand retail sale. So, one would expect some discount. While I'd guess that this is a sound gun with a lot of "bang" left in it, I don't see it as a bargain (beware the alure of a price that sounds low)- priced about right. Also, note that there are plenty of similar guns in this price range; have a look at Holt's next auction. http://auctions.holtsauctioneers.com/asp/searchresults.asp?pg=1&ps=25Lot #1753 for a game gun, #1756 for a fowler, #1759 for a similar gun in better conditiion, #1761 for a similar "sleever", #1728 for a decent W&S 700, etc.
