Peter Knight established his business in 1881 at 39 Canal Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.
In 1894 he moved to 22 Carrington Street, and in about 1909 to 23 Carrington Street. In 1932 he moved to 12 Clinton Street.
The firm was last recorded in 1942. Reports differ, but the business was sold to Charles Smith & Sons of Newark in either 1942 or 1951, probably 1951. Charles Smith & Sons is now owned by Roy Martin, Gunsmith, of The Old School, Darlton Road, Dunham-on-Trent, Newark, Nottinghamshire NG22 0UJ
