Got a very decent 12 ga. 30" Parker Trojan local consignment tonite 600$. My first, likely last Parker. Wood rock solid, good lockup w/ lever at center, high stock dimensions, couple of pits left bore fwd of chamber, clean outside, even trigger pulls, nice round pins, only buggered screws the two front of trigger plate. This after yrs. of looking at absolutely remuddled junk including damascus GHE posing as fluid steel and the "Damascus" stippled over in the barrel address. This gun 187,000 range; I think that's early 20s. 7.4#. I can hardly wait to load a couple boxes of low pressure spreaders and get to the skeet range. Yeh, I know it's only a Klunkah but it's a Parkah so I'm pleased.

There's one local here that has been on the shelf for probably 2 years. They want I think $1,200 and it has a major dent. Obviously if it was worth $1,200 it would be sold by now. Can't figure out in this day and age with this market that folks can hang on to non moving inventory. Knowing this fellow, he probably paid $400 for it max.

The market is pretty flooded with 12 ga. Trojans in similar condition. I know of at least a half dozen perfectly shootable Trojans with 28" and 30" barrels, good screws, no issues other than being used a lot and all in the $1100 - $1400 range.

I owned a pretty nice 28" Parkah Trojan about 45 years ago. Shortly after that I discovered Lefever, the rest is history, that was my last Pahkah. I have sorta regretted though that not all that many years back those G grade damascus Pahka's seemed to simply flood the market in average condition for a couple hundred bucks, that I didn't get one of them, but I would just pick up another H Lefever for less money & go on. Them days are long gone now.

Nice price! I'd like to find a shootable 16 Trojan or VH that I could afford, just to offset my Sterlys. I didn't buy Dave Furman's Trojan and I think that was a mistake!

Nearest to this price I could find is on GunsInternational; amateurish restock. I just got home from work, let the dogs out, got out the Ed's Red and my max abrasive for barrels which is grey ScotchBrite spinning in the slot in a fiberglass rod. Then 4-ought steel wool and more Ed's Red. Then JB's bore paste on a kleenex wrapped on a brass brush on a 3-piece aluminum rod with the handle removed and also spun by a cordless. Surprise, surprise! The right bore is super and what I thought were one of two deep pits are gone in the left but some frosting fwd the chamber at 9 O'Clock. Then slackum and rotten stone on a felt rubber for the woody bits particularly on the stock faces where I took off a really old but very nice because thin lace-on extender. Good buttplate under there altho proud. Might put the lace-on back on as the gun is just slightly summer-short for me at 13-3/4" LOP.
So it's all scrubbed out and some heavy Mobil synthetic on the knuckle and bolting. Removing barrels easier now as that hook in there isn't sticking. However, I still seem to need to turn it upside down to get the barrels off first try. Also took some paste cold blue and spotted the brightly scrubbed frame per Pipes ideas, some on the barrel balls and the upper tang and lever, let it bite a bit and then moved it bit with my finger. I think it's the best I've ever done at "worn and fading case color" [sic]. Course it's all shades of grey but that's OK. Got those usual ring dents at the muzzles but not too bad in the right. Exterior barrels is really nice but I'm sure they've been reblued; doesn't smell like cold blue. This may be my all-time best time at quicky cosmetic "restoration".
