Will a stock off a Sterlingworth 16 fit an A H Fox A grade 16? Are the receivers on Foxes gauge specific in size?

Thanks

If it does, buy a lottery ticket.

While the 20's and 16's of all grades were made on the same size frame, there were changes made throughout the years. Most notable is the inside radius where the top tang emerges from the frame.

Even if you found two that were made weeks apart, you'd be lucky to get a good match. Given the manufacturing techniques of the era, there was a fair amount of handwork even on the lowly SW.

Still.....people do win the lottery.

How right you are Mike. I tried a pin gun stock on a friends that was in really bad shape. I would have been to much work to try and fit the new stock.

Thank you. I was just wondering because I ran across an A grade 16 ga. with lots of cc, good bores, blue beginning to thin but just enough looseness in the action that can barely be felt with the gun closed; asking $999. Serial number 303000 range.
It also has a 'home made' forend wood and stock.
