I'm going to do my best to be there too, Mike. It's peanut harvest season and that has to take priority here but, if the weather turns bad so we can't combine the 'nuts I really want to go again. I always enjoyed that event very much.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

I thought honest Mikee was going out of business? Sure does a lot of bidding these days for a fellow closing shop?

I believe he is genuinely cutting back based in some business I tried to work awhile back.

He is not having a fire sale. He is still collecting stuff he likes. I think gun buying can be a disease at times that we cannot easily cure once infected.

The story I heard , was that he had space in an existing gun shop until the ATF demanded that he have his own separate entrance and bathroom. He is downsizing but has a big, big inventory, he won’t let things go cheap but is willing to deal and does stand behind what he sells.

PhysDoc is correct about the shop. Jtplumb is correct about me being "honest Mikee" but very incorrect about me doing a lot of bidding. My feedback will show I have bought nothing on GB for 8 months. I have bid on a French Darne 16 and a French pocket pistol in the last 3 months and won neither of them. I have sold a couple hundred pieces and about 100 books since last August, and accepted every reasonable offer I have received. Collecting continues to be a lifelong pleasure, but I hope to be down to about my favorite 20 by 2028.

On another note, for any of you who knew Dale Edmonds. I was with him when he passed last Friday afternoon. He was, in my opinion, the world's greatest refinisher of black and white damascus pattern barrels. He bacame a friend as he did work for me over the years. Dale was incapacitated by a stroke over a year ago and was confined to a nursing facility. I had the incredible privilege of leading him to the Lord Jesus Christ after his stroke. He asked me to be his POA and the executor of his will as he had no wife or kids. I will miss him, and the collecting community will miss his expertise and work. Buck Hamlin, who was an incredible doubles gunsmith and friend, passed last August. It's important to keep our priorities straight and to always consider our eternity and relationship with our creator. I don't think I will be taking any of my doubles with me when I make that journey!

Planning on RVing to the Southern with some doubles in April.

Blessings,
Mike

Mike--That was one of the finest things I've seen written here in ages. Your tribute to both of these great gunsmiths is greatly appreciated by me.

Mike, bless you for speaking out as a witness of our Lord Jesus Christ who promises life forever with him for those who call on him for salvation.

I am selling my entire library. 45 years worth of double gun books and a wide array of informative books that contain loads of research materials. About 300 gun books and a complete set library of Double Gun Journals including slipcases and indexes. Some are very rare, highly sought after and collectible. It is taking a while to list them but they will all be on Gunbroker. I also have about 300 full color auction catalogs from the best houses in England and the US full of valuable information and photos I will be selling. The DGJ's and auction catalogs will have to be picked up in Kansas City (Oalthe). If interested call me at 913-915-5196.

For anyone interested, we are planning a memorial for Dale Edmonds at Lews Bar and Grill at 75th and Wornall at 5pm on April 2nd. If it changes, I will post it here.
Blessings,
Mike
