I recently picked up a Scott and Sons percussion double. It needs a lot of rebuilding, maybe a couple of winters projects instead of one.I am looking for lock parts. All I have are the side plates. I have done several searches on Google and haven't really found much yet.Track of the Wolf's lock parts are a little different and probably won't fit.

mike:

If you can reconstruct the locks geometry, then you can figure out exactly what is needed in the way of size and shapes. It sounds like you will have to fabricate some to fit, though.

Who made the locks? Were they they purchased from a supplier such as Brazier? If so, you might locate a Brazier or "Ashes" marked lock and use those parts as an exemplar. You essentially will be building new locks using the old sideplate.

Thanks for the reply Greg; the only marking on the back of plates are a crown over an s toward the barrel end of the plate and the number 4 over the screw hole that attaches both plates together for lack of terminology. The number 4 is also stamped on the back of both breech lugs.

Often times complete locks are sold on eBay, I recently purchased all of the hardware (except barrels) for a muzzle loader on eBay for $10.
