Hi all, just found out that Remington is coming out with a SxS this year. I was unable to download the catalog to find out any info on them.

Does anyone have any specs and other info on these guns?

Thanks!!!

Greg

would have to believe it's just another inport from Turkey , or some such country . I was rather disapointed in the Marlin LCS I bought - hope it's not like them . Paul

SURE they are...just like the SP22 double rifle promised for the last 2 years or so . Almost makes the Ruger Gold Label wait look good. I wouldn't be in any hurry.

Hey Blade, just was wondering what was the problem with the Marlin LC? Looks like a nice gun (of course looks are not everything)!

Thanks

Greg

This one?

Aren't these what Remington called their Spartan line of guns - basically relabeled Baikals?

Don't think I'll be rushing to trade in any of my Model 1894s or 1900s.

Same here,I will keep all of my Remington model 1894s and 1900s. Remington is no more and will never be again.

Call me xenophobic and silly, but I'm really turned off by foreign made guns marketed under classic American names. The Winchester Model 1892 made in Japan is the perfect case in point. The quintessential American gun made in Japan.

I'm sure they're fine guns too - that's not the question, it's just a mental problem I have buying something that, strictly through legal machinations, bears a classic name. Different country, different people, different factory, different machines, same name does not equal "Winchester" to me.

Same with this "Remmie" SxS. I understand we live in a global economy and the good old days are long gone, but I don't have to like it.

The pistol grip model shown in Erik's pictures looks almost identical to the Marlin "LC Smith" which is made by Fausti. Those are decent entry level guns, but not a great bargain IMHO until the supply of used SKBs dries up.
