I'd like to ask a favour, if possible.

I have one of a pair of Bentley & Playfair A&D action boxlock NEs that I need the tumbler tips repaired on. These are not of the bushed type. I'm assuming that the tumblers would be removed, weld repaired by micro TIG and then re-profiled. They're not broken, but, are chipped and aren't nice and rounded like the other gun of the pair.

Could someone here could you give me a referral and advise on cost? I'm really looking for first hand experience.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Kevin

Kirk Merrington can also handle the job. But you may not like the wait. He's busy.

Hi Kevin,
I take it you're talking about the firing pin part of the hammers. One way is to grind off the old pin section, drill the remaining hammer face and install new pin sections made of hard drill rod or piano wire. It can be silver soldered in place or held in place with a cross pin.
