Wow, from excitement to confusion! The guy I am to buy the Baker from, said it mine and the price was all agreed upon. I sent him my address to ship it to and asked him his address to send a U.S. Postal M.O. to. In the middle of the night (he is in N.Y. and I am in Ohio, so same time zone) he sends an email that he wants me to wire him the money to his savings account. Hmmm, did you ever get nervous on a buy? He may be on the up and up, but... So I try to call him and it goes to voice mail, I want the name of his bank and their ph. no. I also asked again for the 3rd time his address. I wait several hours and I hear nothing from him. Well, he may be at work. So I just now called again and it goes to voice mail. What is the deal on not giving me an address to send money to? Maybe the guy thinks I am going to come over an rob him, heck I don't know. I am a Realtor, so I know how to access the auditors site to see if he has an address that he at least would own. He doesn't own any property, but that doesn't by any means that he is not an up standing guy, but I can't reach him that way. I then call an office in the town he lives in, to see about his phone no., he doesn't have a land line, only a cell phone. But he wants me to put money in his acct. and I won't even get a tracking number to follow the gun? I then send him an email. Well after several hours, the email bounces back! What is going on. This all started when by a fluke, I as looking through FleaBay last week Wed. and this gun pops up. Then after 3 days, it is gone and no one bought it at the buy now price. Before it came down I had asked for pictures, as none were posted on the auction. Once it came down, I called him because I had been ready to pull the trigger and buy the gun. I wanted to see if the gun was still available as in a previous ph. call I mentioned to him that I was surprised to see on FleaBay as they don't permit the selling of guns, but that I was interested in the gun. He answers that the gun is still available, but that his auction was pulled by FleaBay. Then he tells me of a change and ups the price $400, telling me that he had 2 other guys trying to buy it. I tell him I was a buyer at the buy now price, but I was sure one of the other 2 guys, would be happy to buy it. Then, he emails me yesterday to tell me he will sell me the gun at the agreed "buy now" price. At this moment, I still have that love affair going for an early Baker SBT. But the feelings on this seller is getting an odor to it. I still would like to buy the gun, if it can be safely bought, but how could that be done? If it is truly there to begin with?

Dave, I don't think there is any buyer who would not get the creeps from the scenario you describe. No pictures , no address, wired money------???

While I was reading this I kept thinking about the emails I get from the minister of finance in Nigeria who wants to give me seven million dollars.
If it is too good to be true it probably is. The only way I would make the deal was him ship the gun to my FFL, I get a three day right of return. If after the three days I want to keep the gun I will send a postal money order.
Best,
Mike

Do not walk but do run away from this deal. Never send money to anyone who does not give you a real mailing address and a land line and return calls an email promptly. How fast do you think he will answer after he has you money? Bait, switch, fake other interest in a gun to jack up the price, listing a gun on EBay which every legit seller knows is not allowed. This is just trouble from the word one.
Have him send the gun from a FFL to your FFl. Pay the extra dollars. No FFL is going to deal with this level of BS because fraud can cause them to loose their FFL. Fast way to get rid of BS is getting a legit person in the deal on the other end.
I had a deal on GB that seemed legit and ended up being a ripoff. GB did nothing at all to help and when I complained they dinged me. I will never give them another dollar.
By the way I have a single barrel Baker trap gun. Well it was a double barrel but someone ruined the one barrel. I could plug it and let you have this rare gun for the low price of ... . Please hurry the minister of Nigeria has expressed and interest in it and is willing to send me a Certified Check for more than the asking price. I can send him the gun and then return the extra money to him. He has a cousin who can pickup the gun today and give me a certified check. I need to know asap. ASAP in this case means A Sucker Always Pays. Do not be a sucker.

Well, I missed something in the other thread I shouldn't have. He had no pictures on FleaBay. When I asked to see pictures, he used his cell phone and sent those. Really poor quality. I did all could do to edit them and make them better. I can see it, ok, but not as well as a person should. But, I do feel comfortable, with what I see. Since the start of this thread, this afternoon. He has now called me twice. It is almost as if he has read this thread and knows who is talking about this sale. So many of the questions and comments he made, seemed to be scripted off of what I had posted. Anyhow, his Mrs., no way wants me to deposit money into their account. She is afraid I would look around in there. At least she is thinking as a person should. I also told him I was not comfortable with it either. But he thought I would like that as he would have the gun quicker to me. He is now being real forth right about all of this and wants to be sure there is no misunderstandings. Well, it sounds better, if it is not a ruse. I also have his address and the now even know his landlords name and address. I won't pursue that angle anymore, unless I need to, but I have the tools. At least I know where I can send the Post Office General, if he defrauds on the U.S. Postal Money Order. I also gave him the address of my FFL, to send the gun to. Maybe it was all me being paranoid, and I still am. Hopefully it was just me that felt this was getting stinky and he had no intention of wrong doing. I will see how this plays out. I just maybe "A sucker always pays".
