I am working on my Martini henry project.. Making my first stock from scratch. I have the forend roughed out. I am attaching it with two pins and inlet into the front of the stock. One pin is the original in the back and another up front.

The question is should I bed the barrel to fit tight into the forearm full length? Or should just have it make contact at the two pin points? Please advise.

As I said this is my 1st stock ever. I am using a p.c. of cherry. I am patterning the rifle on the sporters form that era ala pictures in the DBL Gun Journal.

Bed it tight except at the end that meets the action frame, if that doesn't work you can always releave it as neccesary. ...MIKE...

Thanks Mike,

That is what I just did. I'll see how it works.
