I've finally got a line on a good 20 gauge Model 37. However, the serial does not match the Walt Synder database. I asked the seller to recheck the number and this is the result:

7661534-4.

Is this a 1969 date of manufacture?

I don't have reference with me but that's not late 60s # my 1967 vintage trench gun was #999xxx. Ask for bead type, barrel markings, location of serial #, type of checkering,..... that might provide clue as to date of manufacture. Let us hope it's not one of Chinese-made copies of Mod. 37 that are floating around.

It has one to many numbers in its sn, He is probably mixed up with the 4s . That is choke(full). Only 6 numbers in this era sn.

Yes, Walt you're right, it's a full choke barrel.

Well, I still can't tell for sure, at first glance, from the thumb nail images it appears to be a Model 37 Deluxe with a vent rib barrel. smile
