Gents,
I have a sevens model 35 pistol that is heavily rusted. I need to removed the barrel hinge screw. WD 40 has not worked. Someone told me to soak the gun in diesel motor oil. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Immerse the gun in Kroil for about a month. Then use a perfectly ground turnscrew and leverage to try the screw. Kerosene is a second choice to Kroil.

A little heat with a propane torch will go a long way. Doesn't take a lot. Heat the screw head, squirt on penetrating oil and heat again and repeat several times. If that doesn't get it loose, chuck a proper size screw driver tip in a drill press, next put the piece solidly in the drill press and with one hand pressing the screw firmly into the screw slot using the drill press, turn the drill press chuck with your hand. Don't try to power the screw off, all you want is to be able to press the screw driver tip solidly into the screw slot. Be aware that you can easily put enough torque on the screw head to split it in two so be careful.

I saw some tests that indicate ATF and acetone is best. You can afford to soak the whole action in this brew.

I use ATF for all of my gun Cleaning and preservation. My BPCR friends suggested it to me and it works perfectly. It is high
in anticorrosives and a perfect lubricant for our purposes.
And inexpensive.

I too have been using a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone for all of my gun maintenance needs! It is the best penetrating oil that I have found to use thus far!
