There has been more than one instance where Wind River had failed to make good on guns that were sent to them and or money sent for barrels to be made. People have waited a lng time and after guns or money is sent, they refuse to answer emails or phone calls. I would read the above article and others before ever sending anything to them and now would never even think of doing so. Their record is tainted and hopefully the people involved will get their guns/money back.

Wind River rebarred a Winchester 1873 and did some other work on the gun. The quality of the work was good. However, it took two years of phone calls and e-mail before getting my gun back. When the gun was finally returned it was missing screws and some of the work I paid for was not completed. I returned the gun and it was another three months before getting my gun back. It again took numerous calls. They charged my credit card twice. I called them and asked to have the charges corrected. They never did and I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company. Be very cautious using them.

I have a new Starrett surface gage from the 1940's and the case colors are really nice too. I don't think they would do that kind of work for anyone else though..

They do it the right way, Ed. It's all very complex, and, you wouldn't understand it.
Best, Ted
