I just found this 16 gauge hammergun on gunbroker. What do you guys think? Is it worth the money and do you think it would be any good? 16 gauge Hammer Gunbroker I've been trying to find a bernardelli 16 gauge hammergun, but I haven't even seen one in the last 4 years. Thanks.

Looks nice. I can't understand why it's billed as a Guild Gun. Every inscription on the barrel is re-iterated in the write-up save this one: W W Greener Maker
Can anyone explain this to an innocent bystander? Why is W W Greener in effect being snubbed?

Recently my American friend ask my opinion about the same gun. An I can't understand why they name it a "Guild Gun" Manufacture Liégeoise made many identical only this one was destinated for the Milan expo and they indicated it on the rib. The gun is in perfect condition but overpriced by 3.000 $ If you want find a Beretta hammer or similar Belgian hammer guns try this :http://it.armiusate.it/index.php?a=4 Marc.

Very nice. It even has my initials on the top lever. Does seem overpriced though.

I think the asking price is pretty high. From the photos, it looks to be in very good condition and does seem to have some "upgrades" compared to the average Greener hammergun, but $4k seems like too much, even for a 16g. Check out the "vintagedoubles" website for comparison shopping.

I think the first picture has nothing to do with it. Note the top rib marked Greener is a hollow game rib and those on the later photos aren't. Just a mistake I think. Lagopus.....

Yeah, I thought it seemed kind of high. Considering the bernardelli italia 12 gauge they are also selling is about a $800-1000 too high and it's been on there for a few years.
Good catch on the greener rib not being for that gun.
The gun does look very nice, but I'll try some of the other places mentioned.
Thanks for the help.

One of the best Belgian guns at the time. It could be compared to Lebeau, Bodson, Defourny-Sevrin and many others best Belgian makers. If this true colors and finish it will worth more than $4K.
Geno.
