Anybody in the trade getting an LOA in lieu of there FFL? Seems that even the long time dealers are not getting there FFL's as needed. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Gratefully,

I have had them do that with my 03 several time on renewal,They are a bit busy right now with Holder trying to hide evidence of Fast and Furious and shuffling the deck with agents who want to testify. You can still continue to use the FFL with the LOA letter.

My 03 renewal came through 3 weeks after i sent it in. 5 weeks early. u send it in early u get it back early. u goof up on the renewal or citizenshp form. or u send it in late. u have to wait. not to defend any one on some thing else but dont blame it on holder or f&f.

The citizenship form is a great mystery to me. If you already have an FFL and are renewing shouldn't they already have record of your citizenship???? Duh!!! I know - it's the US government what else can you expect.

Not always. I got my renewal on MAY 2 for my FFL that was to expire on AUG 1. I sent it in 3 MAY. I call 1 AUG wondering where my new license was. They said they were behind and that i could get an inspection the end of SEP. I said okay as long as I had an LOA.
I had the inspection 30 SEP and still no renewal.

Those with 01 ffl for gunsmith wk often get xtra check to see if they deal in more guns than they repair. dont know if thats your situation but if so that could explain delay.

I got one extension letter. My best friend ended up getting 3. They said he needed an inspection each time he call the licensing division. He said he is here so come and do it. They keep putting it off. Finally they came. He messed with this for ever. If there is a delay and you are getting extensions letters and have not been inspected in 3 or more years, expect one.
