I've recorded quite a few long barrel, optioned up, 20-gauge NIDs in No. 4E and 5E, including this 4E I bought from Steve Cobb a couple or three decades ago --

I read it and got all RWTF's references but it took some time compared to most of what I read posted on here. And as someone else noted, it was time I will never get back.

At least with Mr Ed, I can read through the foolishness quickly and get to his point, whatever it may be.

(Excepting your quote from Abe today in misfires, Ed. Very appropriate and great to read. It should be pounded into RWTF's head).

For me it's easy to see why....

When I see a Parker no matter what grade I see a timeless American classic.

When I see an Ithaca (no matter how dolled up) I still see a Nitro Special.

Nothing against Parkers; just think they are overated/priced.

The thing I like about Ithaca's is you don't need a jeweler's headband to see the engraving. I'll take the Ithaca any day. That's why they all sell, we are all different. Still waiting for what you guys think it's worth. Estimates, guesses. and certified appraisals welcomed. smile Bill

Joe you're probably among the many who think this way because whether you like Parkers or not you have to admit they command a lot of attention and big prices.

With the market as it is today I couldn't even venture a guess as to the value of this Ithaca.

Sorry, Bill.

I base what I think by what I see.....

Parker had an aura of American quality that was never equaled by Ithaca.

Ya Joe, didn't you say about two years ago that "If you looked at the inside of a Parker you never would own one." Interesting change in perspective over the course of only two years.
The Ithaca is as good as the Parker only it was eclipsed by the popularity of their Model 37 and now nobody even remembers the doubles they built.
