I am looking at a WW Greener FH 25 boxlock ejector with 30" barrels, wood in good shape, and 30 barrels with good bluing and no rust. A luggage case in included. Are these good shotguns? What are their approx. worth?

The one in Holts Auction? People love em or hate em. I really like them. Good ones go for 2.5-3K less if not in great condition.

Ballistix999 is correct on value. If the barrels are good and it has shootable dimensions these are rugged, strong guns. I've shot one for years at clays and been happy. If equipped with the Baker patent ejectors, the ejectors may need to be retimed occasionally but only after many thousands of rounds.

what aspects makes it a love it/ hate it kind of shotgun? Also I looked at the Holt auction and there are two FH25's. One was estimated at 3500 pounds and the other only 350. What is the difference?

3150's .One is probably shootable and over priced the other has probably been put in buy some one wanting shot a a heap of old junk that's not worth a light. Up to you ,you pay your money and live with your mistakes.

The Greener FP action is one of the most attractive, easiest carrying "boxlock" designs there is...not to mention extremely strong. The FH25, for what you get is one heck of a gun. Look at the way the action is filed up, the subtle strengthening bolsters on the frame, the curvaceous shaping on the bottom of the action...and the fitting and finishing of the parts both outside and inside. For this kind of attention to detail one would expect to pay much more for this level of quality from another maker. It's easy to see why Mr. Greener was so proud of his Facile Priceps. They are wonderful guns.

I recently picked up a List 27( F1, or later F20 equivalent) which was the bottom tier of the medium grade guns.I am more than happy with it.
I don't mind the look of the side safety, however I don't tend to use a trigger bolt.
One other nice thing about Greener guns is you can email Greener and his Great Grandson will be able to tell you about your gun.
How many makers can still do that?
Not a big deal perhaps but for those that are interested in more than just shooting their guns its a bonus.
Does it look like this one?

If you have not already I recommend "the gun and its development"by W.W.Greener,its a very interesting period read.

The gun is similar but it has fluid steel barrels and the what greener calls "foliate scroll engraving" The splinter forearm has what looks like horn on the tip? There is a pheasant engraved on the top of the receiver. Was this a lower mid-grade gun, what was the original price in 1908? What would an approx worth be with about 40% case colors. Any further info about the would be much appreciated.

Do you have the serial number?
I believe it would have cost 25 guineas(26 ponds 5 shillings?) when sold.
