Just in case some of you guys thought I gave up... (hahaHA!)
I just ordered me a round ball slug mold in .724 diameter to fit my .724 double shotgun bores.
That big ole punkin should weigh about 600 Grains using wheel weights and a touch more than 600 grains for the pure lead models.
I'm contempalting starting with 33-34 grains of PB powder in a 3 inch fiocchi hull with fio616 primer. Use an inverted spent shot cup with petals trimmed to give the RB a nice concave surface to ride in out the tubes and fill all the airspace between powder and ball. I'm hoping to get about 1500 fps. Should pack a heck of a whallop. Any other ideas on this?
The Gun: a poor man's double: a Silvio Brignoli factory made double slug gun, 23 and 1/2" barrels, cyl / cyl, express sites, cheek piece, ejectors. Shoots touching clover leafs now with Brenneke BM's, but a bit low and crossing at 50 yards.
Input always welcome. Great group of shooters here with sage advice.
