Just in case some of you guys thought I gave up... (hahaHA!)

I just ordered me a round ball slug mold in .724 diameter to fit my .724 double shotgun bores.

That big ole punkin should weigh about 600 Grains using wheel weights and a touch more than 600 grains for the pure lead models.

I'm contempalting starting with 33-34 grains of PB powder in a 3 inch fiocchi hull with fio616 primer. Use an inverted spent shot cup with petals trimmed to give the RB a nice concave surface to ride in out the tubes and fill all the airspace between powder and ball. I'm hoping to get about 1500 fps. Should pack a heck of a whallop. Any other ideas on this?

The Gun: a poor man's double: a Silvio Brignoli factory made double slug gun, 23 and 1/2" barrels, cyl / cyl, express sites, cheek piece, ejectors. Shoots touching clover leafs now with Brenneke BM's, but a bit low and crossing at 50 yards.

Input always welcome. Great group of shooters here with sage advice.

hahaha! I looked for it but didn't find it... the search thingy doesn't let you conduct multiple searches, well, at least not very quickly... who can wait anymore!? haha

Yeah these big old ugly punkin balls spouting out of a bores the exact size should be accurate... "should be". Using the ole' paradox approach of 1800's.

Remember that the Paradox guns fired soft lead bullet that were
designed to "swage" down when they entered the rifled choke. I would use pure lead for your early tests.

Pure lead cannon balls does sound like a wise first step here. Appreciate the input.

I did figure out what the foot pounds energy, momentum and Taylor KO will be (using the standard calculator that does NOT measure metplate). If the pure lead ball weighs 605 grains and it flies at 1525 fps (which I am confident I can achieve or exceed):
Energy: 3123
Momentum: 131
Taylor KO: 95

And with that solid RB "metplat" it would be a snot knocker for sure.
