A 1911 Bentley and Playfair [recently amalgamated with Hollis] Catalog is for wholesale only. All items in the 46 pages are made for the Trade, from barreled actions to finished guns. One could order extras like we order automobiles nowadays. They offered boxlocks, sidelocks, rook rifles, double rifles, cape guns, falling block rifles and much more. Attached is a picture from the catalog of offerings to gunsmiths who want to finish up the guns on their own. Note the single trigger is offered at a substantial price , relative to the barreled action. Does anyone have an idea of what kind of single trigger is offered ? The cut shows the trigger details.

It's a Baker. British patent 19,430 of Sept 30th 1901.

Doug, thanks. It looks like they offered Baker's ejector as an option, too.

Doug, any idea which companies or gunsmiths Bentley and Playfair made guns for ?

Diving deep into the grey matter....

Years ago I made some enquiries on some guns 'made' by Joseph Braddell in Belfast Ireland. The records still exist, and entries show the guns were sourced from Bentley and Playfair.

Fletchedpair, what you saw in the Braddell records corresponds with a Braddell gun for sale at Hill Rod and Gun a few years ago. That gun, too, was made by Bentley and Playfair according to the records.
