Hey all, have a new to me 2006 citori lightning 20ga. After purchase I noticed that the engraving is not the typical pattern shown on 20ga. lightnings. I don't think it's more special then others, just that it is different. Under scrutiny it looks to be hand engraved.

If you zoom in, it does seem to have the tooling/presure marks, varying depths, unsymmetricalness (if thats a word), and uneveness of being hand engraved.

Opinions?

I don't see any of the telltale little "pile-ups" of metal at the end of any of the scrolls. I'd say its stamped...Geo

Ahh...stamped or rolled. Never thought of that! It appears to me that the metal does seem to be 'pushed out' around the lines. Makes sense.
