Don, if you're talking about the Kersten bolting mechanism, I don't think you can have a "Kersten sxs". The Kersten system is essentially an adaptation of the Greener for OU's. Somewhere along the line, someone may have come up with the idea of bolting sxs barrels on the sides. Something on the order of longer, thicker, pierced sideclips. If you have something on that order, I think its value would come from its rarity. But it would be one of those concepts whose time never came.

So someone did try it--or at least conceived of it. From the looks of that drawing, it died an early death because it results in a very broad receiver, through the fences where the barrels bolt. Ends up looking as if you maybe stuck a set of 20ga barrels on a 12ga receiver, and ended up with a lot of receiver hanging over the sides.

I like the looks of a Kersten/Vierordt double rifle. Shotguns would look a bit wide unless smallbore. I wouldn't turn down a 16, though, and yes, I think they are a bit rare. Steve

Gustav Kersten & Vierordt & Cie - Strassburg Verschluß - Marke Luchs - 1907 advert Does it resemble the following: It has DRGM 252511 on the toplever as well as what looks to be Modele I, so that along with the advert notes it was covered by a registered design. I've read some bits and pieces that some design circa 1913 incorporated the Simon-Jaeger Verschluß & that of Gustav Kersten. Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Raimey, your 2 posts above show a bunch of red X's rather than photos.

Raimey, thanks for posting the photos. They look odd, to say the least.
