Hi, are there any indicators on vintage Greener Hammerguns that can assist in determining the grade?

Thanks,

KC

Determining the grade of any Greener is difficult at best. Your best bet would be to contact Graham Greener with your photos. He is always ready to help. Google W.W. GREENER for his contact number.

Best Regards, George

His e mail is
graham.greener@btopenworld.com
and he has been very helpful in the past.
From the Serial number, it was made in 1876 per the "Greener Story" book.It would be an "upper middle Grade" 40 Guinea gun, according to the book also.

I'd say it a medium Pretty Damn Nice Grade...looks lovely.
I have a nice Greener mid quality hammer with steel bbls #50,986...for 1901 so Graham G told me...yours must be a fair bit earlier...but he did crank them out...I love Greener Guns

A Greener not marked with grade on the trigger guard is often a hard thing to determine grade on. The book will give you some help, but not much. No markings on the barrels?

Thanks Guys, per Graham, there are few records if any prior to 1880. Mine is in fact 1876 and is a 45 Guinnea gun. I take it that means a upper middle?
