What's the story on the Browning double which is "finished" by Lebeau-Courally? What action is it, etc.???

I believe the guns are made by Lebeau-Courally FOR Browning. Sounds like some good-ol' Cajun boys.

FN sold sidelock ejector guns in the past, I recently saw a beauty. I think that they were made in house. L-C has been making the current Browning side by side for about 8 years now. Don't know whether it ever sees the inside of the FN factory or not.

Tom, I've only seen one "in the flesh", and I can't say I was overly impressed, for the money. L-C has been making sidelocks for quite some time, so I expect it's built on their own action, although I suppose it's possible they came up with something different for Browning.
I used to think the Miroku-made BSS Sidelocks were pretty good buys, but prices on those have been going up a lot lately--although the 12's are still competitive with the AyA #2 and most other entry-level Spanish sidelocks.

The info from Browning says "finished by Lebeau-Courally," which seems an interesting way to put it.
I have a 16ga LC sidelock, and it's stunning.
Of course, the new LC sidelocks start at $40,000 or so, I think.
So, if the Browning is a real LC sidelock, it's a steal. The "finished by" makes me wonder if it's not made somewhere else, then sent to Belgium for finishing.

You can bet your bippy on it, Tom. Else it would proudly say 'Made in Belgium'.

Might be on the right track as non-Belgian made. I know that some Brit makers, at one time, were getting in Spanish actions and barrels, finishing them, and putting their name on the guns. (Never a big thing, and I don't think any of it is going on now.) That's one way to produce a "British" or "Belgian" gun for way under market price.
