A friend needs info on a nice 16 guage Kreighoff sidelock that his dad brought back from WWII. Where can historical info be found and anybody share knowlege on the monogram on trigger guard? Thanks for your kind assistance. Gun was made in 5/25 as dated on thr barrel flats.

You might try contacting Krieghoff's U.S. offices, which are in Pennsylvania. I'll bet they could arrange for an inquiry to be directed to German headquarters. They might also know what, if any, pre-WWII records are available. WWII was not kind to records of German gunmaking.

I contacted Kreighoff about a year or two back for a friend who had a pre-WWII gun and wanted some information, but he did not have access to the Internet. I contacted Kreighoff by email, and they told me that after the war, the Soviets, who controlled the region they were located in, came in and took everything. They could not give me any information.
