Does anyone on the forum have first hand experience with these guns, particularly the 28 gauge and .410? I would be interested to know how scarce they are, how well made, and where they were built. I've had my eye on a couple. Many thanks in advance | | |

Army & Navy mostly (exclusively?) sold guns manufactured by others. Many different grades. Records are available from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
I shoot a 16ga made in 1896; it is still in great condition and totally reliable, though it is what I think is their lowest grade, a "Gamekeeper."

canvasbackyours is a Webley. Most of the small bore .410's and 28's were low qual made by Midland Gun co. with cam levers not spindle but as .410's and 28's they are selling for high prices.

RedDot, knew mine was a Webley, of course, but didn't know about the 410's and 28's being mostly from Midland.
