Having trouble visualizing what a Beretta M 57E O/U looks like. I understand it is a 1960's-vintage model. I remember well the BL-3/4 series with the coin finish receiver. Can anyone describe the M 57E or post an image? Thanks, KBM

Much nicer gun, IMHO, than the BL's, polished receiver finish, better engraving[much better], ejectors, what looked like french Walnut to me, oft a bit on the light color side, but always selected for proper grain orientation through the grip area, have seen a few with really good figure, but they are probably anomolies. Some made for European consumption had two triggers w/front articulated. For some reason unknown to me they don't always bring a lot on the market, making them 'sleepers', IMO. I'm guessing there were not all that many sold here, so they are simply not that well known. I find them an altogether better gun than any of the BL's tho they are the same gun in a manner of speaking. BTW, some also had wide ribs & some were marked 'Trap' on their receivers. Hope this helps in some small way.

I have two S57E Berettas - a 12 with 26 inch barrels in Sk1/Sk2, and a 20 with 28 inch barrels in barrels opened to Sk1/Sk2. Very nice guns in my opinion. I also happen to have two BL-series (BL-3 in 20 and BL-4 in 12) Berettas. All are fine upland guns, but the S57E's are higher in grade of fit/finish/engraving.
