My own slacum formulas "work," but are too slow to get to that perfect tacky or "treacly" state for rubbing off. My standard of comparison is the CCL/Clive Lemon version which gets tacky in around four hours under good drying conditions(low humidity and moderate temperature.) As we know, ya' got to be there when this stuff kicks over for best effect and a predictable, short tack time is essential.
Anybody have success speeding their slacum up? I have added Japan drier but this hasn't really helped much. "Terebene"
drier (a derivation of turpentine, I think) doesn't seem to be available in the States. Is this the answer?
Yeah, the CCl, even in a little bottle, lasts forever, but it irritates me that I haven't figured this out.
Any opinions/solutions?
