Good morning, I've been interested in left-handed conversions
and a member of the board sent me some pictures of some of the
left-handed conversions of 1903 Springfields that he has acquired. One of which is marked "Pugliese", he also has a right-handed sporter similarly marked and we were wondering if anyone knew of a gunsmith so named.

Top gun is Hoffman LH '03 action and stock by S Griffin, 2nd is Sedgley LH '03, 3rd is "Pugliese" marked LH '03 and the bottom is LH conversion by an unknown maker using a 1917 bolt. I will put up some more detailed pictures of the bolts tonight.

Frank Pugliese ran illustrated ads picturing a sporterized Springfield M1903 in the American Rifleman, post war, 1946-50 period, perhaps later.

Address listed as... 2829 S. Broad St., Trenton 10, New Jersey

Best Regards,

What Cheer

Thanks What Cheer,
I searched for "Frank Pugliese" and saw a reference to a left-handed Mauser conversion made by him.

Here are pictures of the bolts

On the right is a standard '03 bolt, the middle bolt is a Sedgley LH '03 bolt lengthened at
rear and on the left is Hoffman gear LH bolt.

On the right is Sedgley 1917 bolt shortened in the middle for use in '03 action, the middle bolt is std 1917 bolt and bolt on the left is from the unmarked sporter, it is a 1917 bolt shortened at rear
for LH conv.
