Hey everyone.

I need help identifying my newly acquired Victor Sarasqueta.

The proof mark shows it is a 1973 build so pre-Diarm.

I thought it was an 8E, but the model numbers changed just prior to then.

It is a true sidelock, ejectors, decent wood.

It has some minor wear on the forend and barrels where it would be gripped.

Guess how much I paid for it.

I also identify it in a 1977 catalog as a model 6 (per the engraving, I mean).

You ask for a guess in the price you pay for it: how about 600 USD? I think that its value is much higher, but by the way you ask for a guess, I imagine you pick a real bargain!!

Victor Sarasqueta shotguns are genarally very well made and are much apreciated as a brand in Spain and Mexico.

Don Victor, the owner, used to say " Do it right whatever you do, because the things well done cost a little more to do, but everybody wants them" (maybe is a poor translation, but I think you can understand what he was trying to say)

Enjoy it.

$750?..though I don;t know much about, nor really like Spanish guns...
Hope you got what you think is a deal though, 'cause that's what really matters

I don't think it's a crack. Just a scratch.

It may be a crack. If it's just surface at that point, sand the radius back just a hair and leave it. If the crack originated at the head it has to be addressed with glue/glass and staples. Either way, it's a very good price.

Took a look at it. Seems that it is following the grain. Doesn't look like it is all the way through the wood.
