Thanks for the info and the pics.
Is there any Webley documentation that refers to the top 2 grades as 701s and 702s?
What about the 720s and 728s? Some people use those model numbers for 20g & 28g model 700s.

Good to see this thread brought back to life.
I have copies of Webley catalogues from 60's and 70's ( kindly gifted from a board member) which clearly describes and advertises the 700 as basic, 702 next, 701 top model. Priced accordingly. Crawfords Webley history states the 712, 720 and 728 are indeed bore designations and made for American market. Regards.

I picked up this 12 bore 702 a couple years back at an auction. My out the door price including buyers premium was $2,300. I don't think the gun had been fired when I bought it, that has now been rectified, it's a great gun for Pheasant. I just picked up a model 700 in 20 ga. The gun is in pristine condition. The gun has 3 in chambers and 30 in barrels. The serial number is 137337. I would love to know the age of the gun.

The Crawford book says wildwood's gun was made in 1966.

great solid guns. I shot a W&S finished and labeled J Dickson and Son gun for years, with modest loads, on grouse, woodcock and pheasant and clays. No looseness or evident wear. There is a nice pair a friend has for sale at Schwandt Classic Arms
