A sporterized Springfield 03-A3 that I built. It had Killer feather Am Black Walnut and shot one hole groups with everything from Hornady 110gr short jackets w/18 gr Unique to 190gr Partitions. I needed to sell it to get something else. How I wish I hadn't.

Deltaboy, no. The gun is all original as far as parts. The stock is in excellent condition with no cracks. The barrel was redone by Dale Edmund.I have no vested connection to the gun, it belongs to Thad.

Worked in a sporting goods store in the late '60s. One day a guy came in and sold the manager three guns, one of which was an absolutely brand new Ithaca Grade 3 28ga. that had never been touched. When the manager, not one of my favorite people and not gun savvy to boot, put it up on the rack, I promptly put it on layaway. He wouldn't give me my usual employee discount, saying it was "too valuable a gun to deny it to the public, let alone discount it", but I didn't care. A few weeks later, a buddy took me on a wild goose chase after what he described as a mint Winchester 21 early Custom Shop 20 ga. in "terrific original condition"for $1000. I took my deposit back off the Ithaca, went with him on my day off way up hell and gone to the country to a lone farm house, whereupon he instructed me to "stay in the car till I'm sure he's OK with me bringing a stranger." I hung tight until about 45 mins. later he reappeared, saying the guy had changed his mind, didn't want to sell after all. To this day I suspect the "he" was a "she", and that I was the chaeuffer for his little upcountry tryst. When I got back to the store the next morning I found that my very understanding boss had called one of his buddies as soon as I'd taken my deposit off the Ithaca. Result" No Win 21; no Ithaca, out a tank of gas, with a severe case of the DumbAss for a week!

How about the Grade 4 Ithaca NID that I posted photos of here last July. It was in mint condition and only $2700. I looked at it 3 times. When I went back for the forth time it was gone. This was a rookie mistake and I'm still having dreams about that gun!!

Not a double.........I boarded from my buddies Grandmother and she offered me two guns for the taking as a gift, for helping around the farm.
I declined, figured they belonged in their family as heirlooms.
The sold at auction a year later.
A DM Lefever and a mint 45-90 lever Win.

A few years ago I missed a Parker VHE, straight grip, DTs, splinter forend, #1 frame, 28", DHBP, all original, lots of condition, crisp, sharp and clean throughout.
It was a Remington-era gun with a 14 1/2" stock and very little drop, too.

Oh well, there's always another gun around the corner.

I just came across an English gun that has my heart thumping away. I don't plan on missing this one.
