I ordered through the website. Worked fine as long as I used paypal. Liked the $1 shipping charge. Look forward to trying on the long range ptarmigan in Alaska.

Stan,

The RC Ammo in Uruguay [from the outfitter] is running $12/bx. these days, used to be it was a couple of $ less. Sometimes there is still a bit of squiggle room, but one has to remember that's where many of the outfitters are making their money. Like us here, they are paying somewhere from $7~8/bx. wholesale for the good 20 ga. ammo.

Changing horses, I purchased a number of flats of Italian Centurian 12ga. ammo last year, mostly because the price was very attactive. It is all 3/4 oz. loads of hard #8 shot at 1400 fps. I find it throws good patterns on the grease plate & breaks bunker targets quite well, but find it a bit abrupt or 'punchy' for repeated clay target shooting in some guns w/standing breech. I also used it on dove in W. TX on several dif outings w/very good results. In the dove field I never noticed the recoil sensation, but we all know how that works;-)

With school about over, I'd hope your grandson is able to both lend a hand w/that dove field and to do some sporty clay target shooting w/you during the summer months. Given the chance to hone his shooting skills, he may be good competition for you come Sept. 1

Reo has some great 7/8 loads, some at 1350 and another at 1200 ft/sec. The 1200 are soft and the 1350 are not really noticeable for recoil. The 1350's are Bunker Trap loads I believe.

I ordered a flat each of the RC2 1 oz.at 1250 fps, Champion Excellence 1 1/8 oz. at 1250 fps, and the Red Shot SuperNik 1 1/8 oz. at 1250 fps.

Gonna do some patterning with them and compare them directly to what I've been using. I also will open a shell out of each flat and test the shot on a hardness tester. We shall see what we shall see.

I got an email from them indicating that the website is not fully functional and is not properly calculating shipping charges yet (i.e., shipping will be more than a buck).

Here is some additional information:

That is strange. I got three e-mails from them, after registering and ordering, and none of them said that the $1/flat s/c was wrong. In fact, the order confirmation said that the order was shipped and in parentheses, beside the $3 (for 3 flats) shipping charge, it says (Custom shipping(test)).

????????????? We shall see.

Ordered on the 21st, got an e-mail today saying the shells will be shipped on the 30th. I'm probably missing something, but I just don't get how it takes 9 days to address and ship 3 flats of shells. I guess it is just because it is a new venture for them and they're trying to get up and running. Or maybe since mine was order no. 13 it had something to do with it. Ya think?
