Thank you for the offer. I might take you up on it in the near future if needed.

I am unsure if our die will shape a unskeleton plate. Once we get a good part and make a model of the working die on a CMM so we can duplicate it, we will try a solid blank and see what happens.

What could possibly go wrong?


Gentlemen:

I believe that once we have this working we will be able to offer custom shaped plates, using the same heel contours of the plate we are trying to make now. A somewhat longer and wider plate should be possible. Custom inside shapes will be possible for sure. I was sent some pictures of butt plates privately that are just gorgeous!

So many vices, so little time. Thanks you all for the help.

Just to add my two cents. I agree on thicker being better. The "neidner" plates offered by Brownells and others are way too thin. I think what you're making is looking real good.
