I bought a used drilling equipped with a Pachmayr rubber recoil pad with an ugly (for me) white line; iritates my eyes terribly... Is there a practical way to remove it? I mean the white line, not the whole pad. Thanks for any advice.
  With kind regards, Jani

Here's a trick I've used over the years. Take masking tape and tape off both sides of the white line spacer. It is better to tape the white line spacer outside its' edges, than inside. Try to keep the edges as parallel, close and even as possible to the white line. Then take a permanent and I mean PERMANENT BLACK MARKER. One of the best I have found is made by Stanley Tools for marking your tools with your name [Lowe's is where I got mine], but remember once its on...its' on!!! Then in one continuous smooth swipe, do one direction first, then the other half of the stock, starting at the top and meeting under the toe. HTH Jerry

If the pad fits nicely and is a solid pad, I sometimes cover them in leather. Always acceptable looking no matter the vintage or type of gun.

Removing a white line from a Pachmayr is akin to removing the fender skirts on a 1951 DeSoto and spraying the wide white walls with black Krylon.

Anyone in Slovenia with enough jack to buy a drilling...
Can also afford a new pad. Without a white line.
It's geniuses like this that keep me comin' back here!
