Carey, thank you. Last week I visited the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wy. In their Firearms Exhibit , in the basement, is the Bill Furnish donation of approx. 240 hammer guns. They are nicely displayed in pull out vertical "drawers". In one of the last drawers on the far right was a gun with the "exact" trigger [3] arrangement seen on your gun. At the time I did not put 2 and 2 together to relate it to your gun, but did notice the maker that was given was an odd name for me. I do not remember for sure the name I saw. Maybe it was Foster, but we plan another visit in a month or so and I'll look more closely.

Daryl: I will make it point to take a look when I go there later this summer, thanks for the heads up.

I also wanted to give everyone an update. As I stated in my post the other I day I sent the gun and the check back to the collector who was concerned about the gun being refinished. Upon examining it he said he was 99.9% sure that the gun is 100% original and virtually new. He said it is so nice that it is almost unbelievable to the point he has invited another fellow to his home who works for one of the large gun auction companies to look at the gun to satisfy his one tenth of one percent doubt. I believe at the end of day the gun will have sold itself.

The man also mentioned that the engraving of the dogs on the side plates were exactly like the ones on his Parker 10 gauge hammer gun.

The prospective buyer is now the owner of the gun. In addition to the previous friends I had mentioned in an earlier post he had a friend from a nationally known high grade gun shop examine the gun yesterday and he too believes it to be 100% original and in near new condition.

If I were a double gun collector I would have kept it for myself.

I have a cased like new 100% original 12 gauge WC Scott Monte Carlo I will be offering for sale on Guns International, as well as a very nice Prussian Daly drilling in 12x12 x 38-55 Winchester.

For those of you into Smith and Wesson handguns I will also be offering a near new five screw 44 mag with the original box and tools. As well as pre model 24 6.5 inch 44 special with original coke bottle grips, that is 99%.
