Need your help guys. I was casting bullets for my .500 Dougall double rifle using the original mold in the case that has a hollow point tool that screws into the mold. I had one heck of a time trying to get the hollow point pin backed out of the cast bullet. Is there some lubricant that is used on the pin to keep it from sticking to the lead bullet? Thanks!

There may be a fat spot toward the end of the pin. On a bullet that size, even with a parallel pin, the cast bullet should shrink away enough to slide off without difficulty.

I was going to suggest trying powdered graphite, and I see that is a major component of the mold release sold by Midway. But I would first check Mike Rowe's suggestion for any fat spot or imperfection on the pin.
