I was much more interested in barrel matting machines before the purchase of my CNC mill which I can now use to cut a pattern VS rolling one. What kind of patterns can he do? is it one of the old Winchester machines? Neat stuff to be sure.

Steve, I believe it's one of the old Fox machines.

It would all depend on the price and services offered.
Do you know what the price for matting a rib would be?

I have 2 completed barrels that need matting.

I also need ribs for two other barrels. Would he be supplying completed ribs, by themselves?

Finally, would he offer reworking of the matting/rib on beat up barrels?

Same questions as organza. I have a couple that would benifit. This would be a lot easier than doing it by hand with a graver, and in my case would look a lot better.

Oganza, I assume "beat up barrels" would have the original matting milled or sanded off and the new matting applied from scratch. It sure would be nice to see that service available.

The price of course means the most as to wether work flows in or trickles in.

Ability to duplicate factory patterns? Parker, Fox, Winchester ect. for restoration or replacement of bbls that need it.

Or is it a one style of pattern cut only,,perhaps one of the above, or none of them.

Can flat, concave and convex surfaces be done.

Just some questions I'd have

Good questions, and I PMed Steve Bertram with some of them about his new CNC machine.
