We have done the electrical service work for about 10 years for a couple who own 6 semi-fast food stores. They have been in the business for about 25 years and have done well. They work hard and deserve what they have. He wanted to see the Peterlongo I recently purchased so I took it with me this morning as we had a little work at their house, which we also wired. He has hunted Africa several times and has a nicely appointed trophy room. When I walked into his trophy room I saw a barreled action laying on a chair, which I immediately noted was either German or Austrian. He and I share very similar interests in rifles. I asked him what he was working on and he said, "no, that's for you, for the good care you take of us". I was pretty speechless when he handed me the piece and I noted it was a Christoph Funk. Probably the usual, set triggers, butterknife bolt handle, octagon to round barrel, matte rib barrel and lever release floor plate. It is chambered to 8 X 60 and if I read it right is from 1929. He told me of all the people he knew that I was the only one who would appreciate it for what it was and not hack it into something else. I don't have the Peterlongo shooting yet and I have my next project!!!!
I have good customers, and I know that....but I didn't know they were that good!! I thank God for all of them every day.
