I recall seeing a discussion here before, I believe, but cannot fing anything on a search. Anyone have an opinion on these, particularly 10 to 12, with the slit side?

As I recall someone had figured out grinding down a portion of the rim on the Silver model, making it unnecessary to remove insert to remove the spent shell. Thanks for any information.

Pat,

Saw the same discussion and bought a pair of gauge mate gold to use with a Darne 10-gauge. Took it upland bird hunting last January. Worked fine, although they are sensitive to the amount of lube put on them. I did not sufficiently lube the right barrel and had to fingernail the empty hull out.

Plan to use them with my "new" 1886 Lefever 10 gauge that Keith Kearcher spruced up. It arrived just before I left for Baghdad so I won't have the chance to try it until returning in mid-summer.

Regards, Tim
