Friend of mine has a 12 ga Beretta silver hawk, circa 1968. Engraving of birds looks like pregnant pelicans. This cannot be the Berettas selling for $1500++ I see on Gunbroker, but the gun is nicely done mechanically. If it was a 20 ga, I'd buy it. Wassup, y'all? Are there 20 ga berettas with Greener bolts that can be had for reasonable prices?

No Greener bolt on mine, but I found a 426E 20ga with 28" barrels, 98% condition, for $1200 in a local gun shop. Has the fat birds on the top lever.

I found an ad for the beretta in a 1960s Rifleman--featherweight, something like $185. Action sides have the ugly pregnant pelicans, has greener bolt. Considering buying a Spanish Richland 202 20 ga, has two barrel sets. Project gun, maybe one set rifled for slugs.

I have a '56 cross-bolted Silver Hawk in 20 ga. It has the factory stock and a custom Claro stock. I figure a min/max price range is $1200-1800. $1800 for a 12 ga. seems awfully steep.
You don't have to look hard to tell it is well built. Take care of it and you can pass it on. For reasons I don't remember, I took it to the Beretta guys at the Grand when it was in Vandalia. To my surprise, the lot of them dropped what they were doing to stand around, look the gun over, and talk about the nice field guns Beretta built back then

I own a 12 gauge Beretta Silver Hawk with 28 inch barrels and a Greener type cross bolt. It is a great shooting SXS. A friend of mine recently borrowed it for three days of bird hunting in Pennsylvania and it worked well for him. This Beretta has a pure inertial single trigger that is not selectable, it always shoots right barrel and then the left barrel. Jent

The old Silver Hawk was basically a 409 tricked out for the American market: Beavertail, full pistol grip, single trigger available as an option. The standard 409 had a much more typical European look: splinter forend, very small round knob grip, DT, sometimes sling swivels. But they are all very solid guns.

The best price on 60s Silver Hawk 12ga extractor gun was $600. These usually get listed at $1000+/-200 with 20ga at high end of this range. The 626 'Onyx' ejector will bring around $1500 and one with 89mm chambers around $1800. The GR gun made for Charles Daly in 16ga cost $900 but this was rather unusual piece in like new condition. The Orvis 'Fowler' which is 626 with better wood is rarely seen and last one seen was $1800. The PB name does keep prices high. Good alternative SxS for upland gunning were once made by Vincenzo Bendradelli.
